Friedrich Nietzsche once said:

“We are so fond of being our among nature because it has no opinions about us”

~Friedrich Nietzsche

As simple as the quote is, there is a depth to it that can be seen by just about anyone; the extent of this depth though, varies from individual to individual. The validity of this statement is just as relative as the depth in which it is seen, for the desire amongst individuals to dwell in solitary existence with nature varies. But, there are times, where all of us can find a profound peace and happiness alone in nature, and per the opinion of Nietzsche this is due to the lack of opinionated statements and beliefs upon every action and word. So the question is, why do the opinions of others cause so much mental and emotional distress or bondage that a momentary escape from it within nature is so beautiful and peaceful? Is it always true, that most individuals are fond of escaping societal expectations? What are some of the deeper meanings to Nietzsches quote?
